Branching Out - Celebrating The Beauty And Diversity Of Trees

With perfect timing for a colourful Autumn, local artist and art teacher Julia Christie and fellow artist Rosie Hart present Branching Out, a celebration of the beauty and diversity of trees. The exhibition of paintings runs at The Museum in the Park, Stratford Park, Stroud, Gloucestershire from

10th November to 25th November 2007.

The exhibition features new work by both artists on a theme of beautiful and magical trees. Also on show is an impressive community painting consisting of 42 individual canvases forming one giant image. Local families are invited to contribute to the exhibition too, by joining free drop-in painting workshops on 11th, 17th and 18th November (11am - 4pm).

Julia, who is well known locally for her inspiring painting and drawing workshops says, 'The workshops are going to be fun and experimental and encourage an appreciation of the beautiful trees in Stratford Park. Come along and try your hand, even if you are complete beginner, and the children only like to doodle. The artwork we make will be included in the exhibition.'

'Branching Out' also includes work by the members of the local branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Nelson Trust art group, where Julia teaches weekly.

At a time when we are all learning to be more appreciative of our environment, this exhibition is a creative and entertaining tribute to Nature and the remarkable trees of Stratford Park.
